CeASR Seminar: Trauma-Specific Interventions: Exploring the Griffin Programme for Women in Recovery
Crime, Justice and Society Programme, Speaker Dr Alexandria Bradley
This seminar will explore the role of trauma-specific interventions when working with women with sex working histories. This talk includes qualitative data collected during an evaluation of the griffin programme. The women’s experience of the programme emphasises the importance of gender and trauma-responsive approaches in healing and recovery. The specialist programme was designed to provide a safe trauma-responsive environment, to enable women to build resilience whilst reducing shame. This talk will consider concepts such as ‘love’ and ‘inherent knowing’, to explore the advanced trauma-informed approaches within this transformative rehabilitation programme. All welcome.
